The Principal Global Indicators Data Mapper and the PGI Data Explorer mobile app are powered by an SDMX web service.   SDMX, an acronym for Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange, is a standard developed by the BIS, the ECB, Eurostat, the IMF, the OECD, the UN and the World Bank in order to “gain efficiency and avoid duplication of effort in our own work and possibly in the work of others in the field of statistical information”.
